Bawumia criticizes NDC’s economic record

New Patriotic Party running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has condemned the economic records of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying the economy has been declining since the party assumed office in 2008.

Bawumia also questioned NDC’s claim of transforming Ghana, quoting figures to back him claim.

“NDC took over the reins of power at the time when the country’s GDP growth was at 9.1%. Now the 9.1% growth has reduced to 3.6%. Where is the transformation they spoke about?  Bawumia said at the campaign launch of the Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom in the Greater Accra region, Shirley Botchway.

He added,“When they took over the cocoa output was almost a million tonnes in 2010 from about 700,000 in 2008. Now it is less than 600,000 tonnes, Where is the transformation they are talking about?”

Bawumia appealed to voters to vote against the NDC since since the “only way we can get transformation is to vote for  Nana Akufo Addo.”
