EC Addresses Ballot Paper Shortage in Volta Region

The Electoral Commission (EC) has acknowledged a shortage of Presidential and Parliamentary ballot papers for five constituencies in the Volta Region. The affected areas include Keta, Ketu North, Ho Central, Hohoe, and Ho West. In response, the EC has initiated swift measures to address the issue, announcing plans to print additional ballots at Acts Commercials Printing House.

In an official communication to representatives of all presidential candidates, the EC detailed its strategy to rectify the shortfall. To ensure transparency, the Commission has invited representatives of the candidates to observe the printing process. This step aims to maintain independent oversight and affirm that the ballots are printed accurately and in compliance with electoral regulations.

The observation process is scheduled for Friday, November 29, at 10:00 AM. Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman of Operations at the EC, has assured the public that the Commission is committed to safeguarding the integrity of the upcoming elections.

Mr. Tettey emphasized the EC’s dedication to conducting a free, fair, and credible election, affirming that all necessary steps are being taken to address the ballot paper shortage promptly. He expressed confidence that the measures will prevent further disruptions, ensuring a smooth electoral process.
