Mikki Osei-Berko Hints at Returning to Politics
Ghanaian actor and broadcaster Mikki Osei-Berko has expressed interest in returning to politics, revealing in an interview with Joy Prime that he may run for parliament in the future. Mikki, who served as an Assembly Member for the Ayidiki Electoral Area in Accra about 20 years ago, responded with a "probably yes" when asked by host Roselyn Felli about the possibility of re-entering politics.

He explained that his motivation stems from a belief that governance in Ghana has been too focused on taxes and borrowing, with a lack of creativity in addressing the country's challenges. Mikki envisions a more business-oriented and creative approach to governance that can generate sustainable revenue for the nation and benefit its citizens.

Reflecting on his past political experience, Mikki shared that his decision to contest as an independent candidate was inspired by a sense of divine direction. "I went as an independent candidate on the direction of God," he explained, recalling how many thought he couldn't win, but he triumphed. However, Mikki only served one term as an Assembly Member as he left the country to further his education at the New York Film Academy, where he studied film production.

Known for his comedic roles as Kokonsa on Radio Gold, Dada Boat, and Master Richard on both radio and television, Mikki Osei-Berko has become a beloved figure in Ghana's entertainment industry, admired for his entertaining commercials and his unforgettable characters.
