The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his commitment to expanding healthcare access across Ghana through the Agenda 111 hospitals project. In a Facebook post on Thursday, November 28, Mr. Nkansah praised the President's dedication to ensuring every district benefits from this ambitious initiative.
According to Nkansah, the Agenda 111 project highlights President Akufo-Addo’s inclusive approach to national development, contrasting it with the policies of former President John Dramani Mahama. He claimed that Mahama’s focus was primarily on constructing a few large hospitals in Accra, leaving other regions underserved. In contrast, the NEIP CEO emphasized that President Akufo-Addo's vision ensures healthcare facilities are distributed equitably across the country, bridging gaps in regional healthcare infrastructure.
"President Akufo-Addo has ensured every district is getting a hospital, whereas former President Mahama built three or four large hospitals in Greater Accra," Nkansah said, referencing projects such as the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), which he noted was initiated under President Mills.
Nkansah underscored the significance of the Agenda 111 initiative as a milestone in Ghana’s healthcare and infrastructure development. He highlighted that numerous hospitals under the project are already complete, with many others under construction. The CEO also pointed out the economic benefits of the project, asserting that it has helped absorb liquidity in the economy and contributed to economic stability by creating jobs and stimulating local industries.
