Ghana Decides can report that there is a massive police and military presence Airport West, Dzorwulu in Accra following reports of some protests in the area.
The crowd gathered at 4th Dzorwulu Crescent and the surrounding neighbourhoods following news of an Electoral Commission facility for transmitting results. A member of parliament, Frema Opare, said the facility is holding up the release of results and urged authorities to allow her entry into the facility. The crowd is vowing to remain at the venue until the results are released and declared.
A District Superintendent Police, Kudalor said the materials the crowd saw were voting materials and not ballot papers.
Our reporters say a tear gas has been fired and the police blockade has been extended past the Centre for Democratic Governance (CDD)up to the Airport West Hotel.
Reports say the crowd burnt tyres, but were pursued by security officers on the scene and the situation has been quelled.
