President Mahama Appoints More Ministers

Ghana Decides Desk Report The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has nominated seven more people as Ministers of State. This was contained in a statement signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr Raymond Atuguba. President Mahama had, on 11 January 2012, submitted the names of 12 other persons to parliament, as minister designates. The list of new appointees is as follows: Dr. Benjamin Bewa-Nyog Kumbuor – Minister Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong – Minister for Justice and Attorney-General Mr. Emmanuel Armarh Kofi Buah – Minister of Energy and Petroleum Mrs. Dzifa Attivor – Minister of Transport Nii Armah Ashietey – Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Ms. Hanny-Sherry Ayittey – Minister of Health Mr. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah – Minister of Youth and Sports These new appointments bring the total list of nominated ministers to 19. Their nominations are subject to parliamentary approval.
